How to Deploy a Safety Sausage at 50 or at any depth

Step 1:

Unclip Safety Sausage from your BC and clip reel to D-Ring on Sausage

Unravel SMBUnravel SMB

Step 2:

Remove Elastic and Hook & Loop ties then unravel.

Deploy SMBDeploy SMB

Step 3:

Fill Sausage with Octo (back-up regulator).

Deploy SMBDeploy SMB

Step 4:

Deploy by letting go so it will rise to the surface. Keep your finger in the center of the finger reel to maintain your depth and control.

Now that you have deployed your Marker Buoy, you can tie it off to an item on the bottom as a marker or use it to notify boats of your location as you ascend. During your ascent carefully reel in the line on your way up to keep boats from coming to close on your safety stop.
