Description
Stand Pipe functions:
- They connect the discharge tubes off the HPOP to the oil rails. Since the oil rail needs to be removable, the "pipe" that connects them together needs to be removable.
- They have a snubber inside them that helps attenuate the pulses in the HP oil system. The HPOP is a piston style pump on 04.5+, swash plate on earlier, that causes a lot of pulsation and the injectors can cause transients due to the quick opening and closing (think water hammer).
