Respect for Nature

Cork is the bark that covers the cork oak trees and is obtained from the stripping of the bark. This process is done manually, without ever cutting down the trees, but only by removing the bark. The first stripping is carried out after 25 years of life of the cork oak, the next ones being carried out every 9 years, allowing the regeneration of the bark. This activity of cork extraction - sustainable* and unique - is the most highly paid agricultural activity in the world, given the high level of specialization required to execute this process.
