●【WORKING PRINCIPLE OF LEAKDOWN DETECTOR】: Once the leakage tester has been connected to one of the cylinders, compressed air (45-100psi) is fed into that particular cylinder through the built in pressure regulator. Diagnosis is made by observing the amount of leakage that is indicated on the cylinder leakage gauge and by listening for leakage at various points of the cars system. Please note: This cylinder leak tester is not suitable for shallow cylinder.

The recommended hook-up is shown below

  1. Ensure that the air valve regulator is in the "off" position before connecting to the air supply
  2. Will require an air pressure of 45 to 100psi
  3. WARNING! Ensure the air supply is clean and does not exceed the pressure quoted. too high an air pressure and/or unclean air will shorten the life of the tester due to excessive wear and may be dangerous, causing damage and/or personal injury.
  4. Drain the compressor air tank daily. water in the air line will damage the tester.
  5. Clean compressor air inlet filter weekly.
  6. Line pressure should be increased to compensate for unusually long ari hose (over 8 meters). the minimum bore for hose and fitting is 1/4"
  7. Keep hose away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Check hos es for wear and make certain that all connections are secure.

Easy Usage

  • Remove Schrader valve and close the air regulator valve anticlockwise before using shop air. Connect the separate rubber hose to the gauge assembly, observe the tested cylinder and decide whether you need to install either of the M10 or M12 adapter on that basis.
  • 2 kinds of testing methods. Either is optional as you like.
  • Direct type test

Gauge tester can directly connect to 10" rubber hose for spark plug test.

  • Screw-in type test

Install either of 2 aluminum adapters(M10/M12) based on the first method.
