Description

Take full time forging from the big time to your hobby work bench with The Beadsmith’s Miniature Dual-ended Horn Anvil. Constructed from solid steel and polished to a smooth shine. The anvil measures 2.5” x 1” x 1.5” (65 x 27 x 40mm) and the length from horn tip to horn tip is 4.65” (118mm). There are two horns, one curved and the other rounded. This allows you to hammer difference curves into your piece with precise curves, depending on what part of the horn you have your piece on when hammering. The flat surface across the top is called the face, and this is where most of your hammering is done. On the face is the Pritchel hole. This round hole aids in punching holes through metal but can also be used for holding tools. This is great for riveting and bending your metal. At the base of the anvil are two holes. These are used for attaching your anvil to your work bench or a hardwood stump. Mount your anvil around the height of your knuckles when your arms hang loosely. This will provide the best results in your striking. To protect your anvil, it is recommended that you do not hit the surface of the anvil directly, but instead always hit the piece you’re creating or repairing. This smaller design is a great jeweler’s tool, especially for those who like to work in metalsmithing. This tool is ideal for riveting, forming, shaping, bending, embossing, flattening and hardening metal designs. The Beadsmith’s Miniature Dual-ended Horn Anvil is a great addition to our Metal Elements line, which includes metal stamping kits and professional quality tools to make personalized items.
