GP-PRO Glass Polishing Compound Professional Grade used by Glass Polish technicians worldwide. Unique suspended cream formula with a high concentration of rare earth oxides to provide the brightest possible finish in all applications.
Improves glass clarity and smoothness and helps to maintain its original look.
GP-PRO Glass polishing compound is recommended as the final polishing stage in the multi-stage scratch removal process when abrasive discs have been used.
No mixing required! Glass polishing compound a combination of mechanical and chemical action. The material must reach and maintain a certain temperature to stimulate the chemical reaction. The mechanical action employs felt pads or felt wheels. For surface restoration, the pre-mixed compound is applied directly to the glass surface. A damp felt pad or wheel is then used to agitate the paste. The friction of the wheel creates the heat needed to activate the polishing process. Too much heat will dry the paste, so care must be taken to keep the paste wet at all times.
Clean the glass surface to ensure that all dust and stray particles have been removed. Fit a felt polishing pad on the backing pad and apply half a teaspoon size amount of the glass polishing compound to the middle of the polishing pad and place the face of the pad on the glass. Start the rotary device. Keeping the polishing face flat against the glass, move the device slowly from left to right, up and down. Keep a nice even pressure against the glass as you move the pad over the glass. After a few seconds of polishing, the milky looking slurry will form. Continue polishing until the slurry is dry. Spray a bit of water to the pad or glass and repeat this process as many times as necessary until the glass is visually clear.
Tip: When polishing, don’t be afraid to experiment with speed and pressure. Lower down the speed to about 1000-1400 rpm and put the pressure to 5-10 lbs to help the polishing compound brake down more quickly and get better results. Remember that using too much water while polishing will dissolve the compound. Using a mist spray is an ideal solution.
