Did You Know?

Honey starts out as nectar that bees collect from flowers! Bees collect this nectar through their proboscis and then storing it inside of their stomachs. These bees regurgitate the nectar and hand it off to worker bees. Yuck!

Worker bees begin to transform this regurgitated nectar into honey by swallowing and regurgitating it over and over again, making the nectar lose most of its water. Eh… how does it turn into that sweet, sticky stuff that I put in my tea you ask? Beats me, I didn’t finish the article. I’m sure they process it in some way…
