- Rat Rod(Flat Finishes) Paints
Traditionally, flat finishes were achieved by running the car in primer. This gave the look, but only for a short time, as primers are not UV resistant. Eastwood’s rat rod flat and matte finishes allow you to get a durable and UV resistant finish in an easy to spray product. Eastwood’s Rat Rod Black provides a smooth satin finish, while Dead Rat Flat Black provides a near flat black finish. With a basecoat clear coat system, you focus on getting the color coverage with the basecoat and then focus on achieving a glossy finish by applying a clear coat. This makes it a bit easier to spray. Eastwood’s basecoats are an activated basecoat, which means that they create a strong bond with the foundation coats.
