Buchanan Tartan Clan History
The founder of the clan was an Irish warrior who, in about 1016m helped Scotlands Malcolm II in his battles to repel Viking invaders. The grateful monarch rewarded him with lands to the east of Loch Lomond, from which the clan takes its name. In the early 14th century they joined with Robert the Bruce in the struggle for the nations freedom English domination.
