1st Step, Preparations

Find the place to install the outlet. Replace an unused cigarette lighter socket or drill a hole. First, we need to pay attention to whether it is easy to get the power; the thickness of the panel where the hole drilled must not exceed 0.75inch(1.9cm); the cords that come with the package are 23.6 inch(60cm); Youd better not mount it too close to the FM receiver or some high-frequency electronic equipments, at least 5 inches. Then, make the hole which diameter is 1.18in (3cm). You might need the following tools:

1.18-inch drill and cutting pliers;
Waterproof glue;
Extension cord (18ag or 16ag) and T-tap wire connectors.

2nd Step, Mounting

Open the panel where you drilled the hole. And put the 12v USB outlet and waterproof cap in the hole, screw nut tightly. Put some glue on the nut if necessary.

3rd Step, Wiring

Connect "+" to the power positive pole (DC 12 volt to 24 volts), "-" to the negative pole (Ground).

For the vehicle, there were two types of positive poles. One is "ACC"; it will have 12-volt when the engine starts and turn off when it stops, reset the outlet to off status each time the engine stops. But this will protect against unexpected enormous current damage to your devices when starting the engine. Another positive pole is a 12v battery named "BATT+." This positive pole will not turn it off unless the 12v battery is draining.

Put some glue on the wire connectors if necessary.

4th Step, Good Job Done

Put the dashboard panel back, and installation finish.

When not charging, the parasitic draw of the device is extremely low even with the led light on, less than 7 mA when the battery is 12volt. So if your 12v battery is 65AH and never turns off the outlet, it will last 65AH / 0.007A / 24H = 386 Days till the battery drain.

If you turn off the outlet by the switch, it draws 0 ma.

Friendly Note

Two ports can do quick charger at the same time.
If your phone supports the quick-charge protocol, and the cable is a quick-charge cable, you can quick charge. Most quick charge phones have the fastest speed when 1%~50%, a little slower at 50%~80%, and a trickle charge when above 80%. Quick and no hurt to your phones battery. My 1phoneXR from 0% to 50% only 30 minutes.
The 12V battery has an internal resistance. As a result, there will be a voltage drop when the 12V USB port is charging, outputting a high current, so voltmeters cannot measure the accurate 12V battery voltage on their side. So we use the led indicator to display the charging status as another function.
