Ⅰ. Installing an LED Light Strip:

1. Wipe down the truck bed(which is usually under the lips of the bed rails or along the sides of the bed rails), rid of dirt, dust, oils, and other contaminants that can prevent the lights from adhering properly.

2. At one end of the lighting strip, cut open the peel from the adhesive backing side with a knife, and then start peeling off. Peel up one section the tape , stick one end of the lights on top of the truck bed wall, and then continue peeling off the backing and pressing the LED strip into place until you reach the other end. Press the lights firmly against the truck bed wall, underneath or along the inside edge of the bed rail.

3. Adjust the light strip position for the most illumination, the lights symmetrically along the truck bed.

Ⅱ. Connecting to the Battery:

1. Reach from the back of the truck bed to the cab or the battery under the hood. The red wire is connected to the positive of the battery, the yellow wire is connected to the negative of the battery.

2. If you have a cigarette lighter plug connector, you can connect it to the cigarette lighter, which is very simple.

3. If you want to connect to the battery under the engine hood, you may need to prepare additional wires to route through the engine compartment, and then use push quick wire cable connection terminals to connect the ends of wires, the positive is connected to the positive, and the negative is connected to the negative.

4. Try to tuck the lights up under the bed wall lips as much as possible.

Ⅲ. Fix and fasten the wires:

1. You can use LED strip fixing clips to fix the light strips, and screw for reinforcement.

2. You can use plastic cable clamps to fix the wires, and screw for reinforcement.

3. Use zip ties to secure your the wire to the vehicle’s main wire harness. Around 6 zip ties should be sufficient. This keeps all your wiring neatly and safely together.

4. Tidy up the rest wires, look for discreet areas to tuck them into.

Ⅳ. Testing the Lights:

1. Test your new truck bed lights. Flip the on/off toggle switch. Look at the lights to ensure that they’re all on.

2. If the lights don’t immediately turn on, make sure the on/off switch is toggled to the "on" position. You can also test connections with a multimeter to determine if there are any that aren’t working.

3. During installation, you may also need wires, wire protectors, solder, soldering iron, screwdriver, wire stripper, crimping tool, socket wrench, lint-free cloth, etc.

4. The positive wire is usually red. If you’re unsure about the positive and negative, you can test with a multimeter.
