  • One with his hands covering his ears
  • One with his hands covering his mouth

The original meaning of the expression is that one should avoid evil

The Wise Monkeys originated in Japan and have been known since 16th century,their statues are set at crossroads in honour the God of Roads --- Koshin, whose attendants they are.
