Aluminum Pop Rivets - Countersunk, Flat Head
All Aluminum Flat Rivets
Like all Blind Rivets, Flat Rivets are used to connect two pieces of material quickly and efficiently. The hat of a countersunk rivet is almost inverted, with a 120 degree countersink in the integrated washer. A countersunk rivet is used in countersunk holes and once set is flush to the surface. They are used in tracks where the head will not protrude into sliding tracks or rollers.
Flat rivets have standard open ends. They are tubular, comprised of a hat and mandrel. When installed, the length of the mandrel is snapped off. Both the hat and mandrel are made of the same material.

Aluminum Hat and MandrelBlind rivets in this selection are made entirely out of aluminum, meaning that both the hat and mandrel are aluminum alloy. Aluminum fasteners are prized for their high strength-to-weight ratio, providing a durable fastener without adding much weight. Aluminum rivets are also non magnetic and corrosion resistant. Aluminum rivets are commonly used in automotive, aerospace and machinery applications where overall weight is a concern. |
Blind RivetsBlind rivets (commonly called pop rivets) get their name because of their function. Blind rivets are commonly used in applications where a bolt and nut will not work because there is only access to one side of the materials being fastened. During installation, the mandrel is pulled through the body of the rivet and snaps off after the grip has been reached. |
Countersunk / Flat HeadCountersunk rivets are different from standard pop rivets due to the 120 degree tapered, countersunk design. This leaves behind a flat head that runs flush with the installation surface, as opposed to a standard pop rivet which leaves behind a domed head that protrudes above the surface. Because of this they are commonly used in tracks, sliding rollers, pulleys and applications where a flush surface is key. |
