HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Meet Rebekah and Jeanette, female entrepreneurs, inventors of Tubie Pockets, and some fantastic moms! Identifying a need to safely feed and care for their special children, Tubie Pockets was born.

Rebekah’s son, William, was hospitalized at the age of 9 months old. Spending a month on life support in intensive care, doctors were not optimistic about his prognosis. Along with her husband Scott, Rebekah was overjoyed when William finally came home just in time for his first birthday. Although he had been an eating champ prior to his hospitalization, William now required a NG tube to provide him with his nutrition. It didnt matter to Rebekah and Scott. He was alive, getting healthier and coming home! However, Williams parents realized while they were adjusting to life at home, things were a bit more complicated. William required so much medical care; Rebekah had to quit her job to care for him. At the same time, she was frustrated by his NG tube frequently snagging and becoming dislodged. This caused trauma to his tender skin, as well as emotional distress to William, his family, and anyone else who loved to hold William. For William to receive his much-needed nutrition, the NG tube had to be reinserted repeatedly. Realizing she need to find a solution to this problem; Rebekah designed the first Tubie Pocket. Fast forward 2 years, Rebekah and Will started a volunteer ministry visiting other families in the hospital with new babies who had various medical diagnoses. This is where they met Faith and her parents, Jeanette and Frank. Faith also faced major medical issues. Jeanette and Frank were overwhelmed with her unexpected medical needs and saddened that people were nervous to hold Faith because her NG feeding tube which dangled from her cheek.

Jeanette was also passionate to help other families who felt the same anxiety she had felt bringing Faith home with a feeding tube. She brought some awesome new ideas to Tubie Pockets, as well as a knack for business, and their partnership was formed. Today, the 2 friends are working to grow the Tubie Pockets brand as a means to provide long-term stability for William and Faith, both of whom are home, healthy and doing well with their G tubes!
