Indispensable tool
This strap winder is unique in that the metal shape isn’t as squared off as some so that it fits in tight places like around the wheels. The plastic seems to be made of Delrin which is extremely durable. There’s a C clip that secures the handle instead of an axle nut. Very happy with purchase!

how this works, how do You start off rolling the strap and keep it from slipping off
This hooks into the strap holder that is mounted on the trailer. You wind the strap onto that. This does not wind the strap up unless it is still connected to the trailer.
What we should do is lose the strap so that it has about 1 foot of slack, then wind it up but as you wind it, pull the strap so that it becomes tight
