Description

We set out to design the very best breadbox on the market, and were pretty proud of our results.

We designed the roll top to slide to the back wall (instead of sliding all the way to the base). This means 100% of the space inside the box is used for storage.

The delightful honey color of Bamboo is produced entirely naturally, without the use of stain or paint, through a special heating process that caramelizes the sugar in the wood. This is made from bamboo, a wood that is a naturally replenishing grass and one of the worlds most renewable resources.

Dimensions: 15-3/4-inch by 10-3/4-inch by 6-3/4-inch.

Extreme changes in temperature, humidity and dryness affect wood; store away from heat and sunlight in a well-ventilated spot. Wipe clean with mild soap and water and dry thoroughly; rub occasionally with mineral oil to maintain appearance.

• Bamboo can be ready for harvest in 1-5 years. Oak can take 40 years. This means oak takes 8X to 40X as much land to produce the same yield as bamboo. This makes bamboo much more affordable and sustainable.

• Bamboo absorbs 35% more CO2 than similar stands of oak and other hardwoods.

• Bamboo roots remain after harvest, protecting soil. Oak must be clear-cut and the roots burned, damaging topsoil and encouraging erosion.
