Product Description

This sliding window pin lock is constructed of steel and comes in a chrome-plated finish. The shortest lock pin manufactured by Prime-Line Products, it is designed to fit on older style, metal framed windows; usually of single pane glass with very thin sash frame thicknesses. Features a holder where it can be stored when not in use, and a chain connecting the pin lock to the holder to avoid misplacement of pin. Window pin locks are designed to securely lock the sliding sash when in a closed or ventilating position, preventing the active panels from sliding on both horizontal and vertical sliding windows. Installation of this security device requires drilling into the sash frame with a 1/8 inch diameter drill bit, and caution should be used to avoid breaking glass with drill bit. Note: THIS WINDOW PIN LOCK IS DESIGNED TO FIT ON OLDER STYLE, METAL FRAMED WINDOWS – USUALLY OF SINGLE PANE GLASS WITH VERY THIN SASH FRAME THICKNESSES. Similar window pin locks of longer lengths include Prime-Line parts U 9858 (2-3/8 inch long) and U 11070 (2-3/4 inch long). Required tools for installation may include the following: Safety glasses, measuring tape, pencil, Phillips head screwdriver, drill, and a 1/16 inch and 1/8 inch drill bit. Installation instructions and fasteners are included with this item.
