Description

  • Large flange rivets are used when there is no access to the blind side of the two materials
  • Larger washer distributes pressure over a greater surface area
  • Used to join two materials together quickly
  • After mandrel breaks off domed head is left exposed
  • Commonly used to prevent damage to soft materials and deter pull-through
  • All steel hat and mandrel with zinc plating for corrosion resistance

Large flange pop rivets have a larger washer on the hat than standard Pop Rivets. They are used to connect two pieces of material in quick, efficient way. Large flange POP Rivets are tubular, comprised of a hat and mandrel; the length of the mandrel is snapped off when installed. The larger washer allows the pressure of the rivet to be spread out over a greater surface area. Commonly used on softer materials where installation can damage the material or pull-though is likely to occur.

Zinc Plated Steel

Blind rivets in this selection are made entirely of steel, meaning that both the hat and mandrel are steel. Zinc plating is added for corrosion and rust resistance.

Oversized Flange

Large flange pop rivets feature a significantly larger flange (or washer as it is commonly known), than a standard blind rivet. The benefits of this is that the clamping force of the rivet is distributed over a wider area. This makes this type of rivet especially useful in applications when working with thin metals, to prevent pull through.

Domed Head

Like a standard pop rivet, large flange rivets leave behind a smooth domed head. During installation, the mandrel snaps off as it is pulled through the body of the rivet on the blind side of the application.
