The tuner won’t turn on?

If you remove the plastic film under the battery, you may try to slightly pull the spacer at the bottom of battery slot and slightly press the metal piece which to fix the battery, and check if the tuner could be turned on.

What setting is used to tune a banjo?

"Chro." or "Bj." setting is for 4/5/6 strings Banjo. Please be noted that you must choose the correct setting. Hope it helps.
