Description

The item you ordered does not have any published instructions from Andersen. It is an item that requires some mechanical skill. In a nut shell when I install the part in my window repair business: -Remove old shoe by drilling out existing rivet or grinding with a small Dremel wheel. -Install new shoe by tapping rivet with a small hammer or nail set on a good stable metal surface to mushroom rivet. -Of course this all needs to be done on the operator after it is removed from the window frame. -When complete I usually use compressed air to blow out any debris from operator gears and lubricate with a spray white lithium grease (available at auto parts stores, local hardware store or Amazon -search for "WD-40 300243 Specialist Lithium Grease Spray"). -Then operator should work extremely well! You need to follow appropriate safety precautions and these instructions are only suggestions. You perform them at your own risk. I ruined a few of these over the years when I made a mistake assembling! This part will save the expensive of buying an entire operator when only the plastic shoe cracked. I have been working on Andersen products for twenty years. Contact me if you have any questions.
