MAGNIFICATION OF TELESCOPE / ERECTING EYEPIECE & BARLOW LENS

  • The focal length of the eyepiece, combined with the focal length of the telescope, determine the magnification power. To calculate the power of your telescope with any particular eyepiece, simply divide the focal length of the telescope (400mm) by the focal length of the eyepiece. For example, when you use the eyepiece H20mm with this telescope, the magnification will be 20X.
  • Normally, a telescope offers a upside down image, the 1.5X Erecting eyepiece not only increases the magnification of telescope 1.5 times but also correct the direction of the image.
  • The 3X Barlow lens can triple the magnification factor provided by the telescope.
