GFCI Adapter is a portable safety outlet adapter that detects electricity current leakage from damaged cords and water, then immediately shuts off power which prevents electrical shock. It works by comparing the amount of current going to and returning from equipment along the circuit conductors. They should be used in areas subject to moisture, as the presence of moisture greatly increases the danger of accidental shock. A portable GFCI should be used out-of-doors with any type of electrical devices, equipment, appliances, or power tools that could potentially be used in close proximity to water. (i.e., drills, mowers, trimmers, pool pumps, spas, hot tubs, lighting…etc.) and should be tested before each use……It is recommended that GFCIs be used in these locations mentioned.
