There are at least 4 variations of the 1989 Fleer Bill Ripken "Error" card. The most popular variation has the actual obscenity written on the knob end of Ripkens bat as a practical joke by his team mates. They have historically said that they expected the joke to be discovered BEFORE the card was actually published.
