The Advantage of Hydraulic Cylinders Over Tie Rod Cylinders

Hydraulic cylinders like the Chief WP are welded with a sturdy steel base. This model boasts a screw-in ductile iron gland instead of a collar-style gland to make the structure more compact. This is an essential feature for industries with offshore or remote job sites that require mobile equipment.

To ensure consistent and reliable performance, the Chief WP cylinder is pressurized to 1.5 times the normal working pressure.

  • The base-end cross-tubes can be extended for more flexibility and a wider swing radius.
  • It is also fitted with SAE O-ring ports to facilitate an effortless hook-up.

Double Action Makes a Big Difference

The push and pull movements in the barrel of our Chief WP Welded Double Acting Cylinder are made possible by the sliding wear rings and Hallite 755 seal of the piston.

These back-and-forth actions are more efficient for tough applications than the solitary motion of single action cylinders.

The cylinder’s interior comprises 2 chambers: the bottom chamber on the cap end and the piston rod side chamber on the head end. In between these sections is the ductile iron piston.
