LTO7, with its high capacity and capability to store data for over 30 years, is optimal for economically storing large quantities of “cold data”- data that is seldom accessed as time passes- over the long term Recent developments have caused an exponential increase in the quantity of data generated worldwide. The “cold data” is said to account for over 80% of all data.
