●DURABLE PREMIUM MATERIAL- The Outfitters Supply Mohair/Wool Blend Sawbuck (Double) Pack Cinch is constructed using a 34-strand Mohair/Wool blend and has double-nickel plated steel rings on both ends, with center rings for securing panniers.
●DESIGNED BY EXPERIENCE- The Mohair/Wool Blend is a horse friendly material; the cinches are soft to the touch, breathable, and dry quickly. This 34 strand cinch is used for sawbuck and double rigged pack saddles.
●LOAD DISTRIBUTION- Each cinch is reinforced with woven crossbars. The crossbars keep the cinch strings from twisting, and help distribute the pressure evenly across the entire width of the cinch.
●SIZING- Outfitters Supply offers this cinch in even sizes from 22/24" to 34/36". The back cinch is 2" longer to accommodate the curve of the animals belly.

Traditional Outfitters Supply Sawbuck Setup
Simple and timeless way to pack.
This sawbuck pack saddle is made in the Outfitters Supply shop and designed for a lifetime of hard use. We handpick from the very best leather available, Hermann Oak Old World Harness leather. The breast collar and the breeching are rolled to prevent soring or chafing. We use stainless steel hardware, including the roller buckles on the quarter straps, for easy adjustment.
Premium Oak & Pine Universal Sawbuck Tree
Made from the finest materials with attention to every detail. We have crafted our new tree out of 100% solid oak and used the best fasteners available. The contoured bars are hand shaped and fine sanded. The solid oak crossbucks and bars are treated with linseed oil for protection and durability. The zinc plated hardware is counter sunk into the bars.
Sawbuck vs. Decker Pack Saddles
Sawbuck Pack Saddles have crossbucks instead of metal hoops. It doesn’t need the pack saddle cover – a padded canvas cover with pack boards that Decker Pack Saddles require. They are “double rigged”, requiring double pack cinch or two single pack cinches. Some cite this as an advantage as it stabilizes the load and better distributes friction around the animal’s belly.
