Meticulously designed with discrete components, it effortlessly converts digital signals to immersive analog sound through a fully differentiated 4-channel architecture. Featuring a resistor network composed of 128 high precision thin film resistors, this circuit closely resembles the renowned discrete DAC of Shanlings N7 DAP. The output passes through a 3-level active LPF, ensuring pristine audio quality, and then seamlessly converts to a single-ended signal for convenient volume adjustment.

Low Power Consumption Compatible with Common Platforms

Compared to highly integrated DAC chipsets, the discrete resistor network in the RU7 is a low-power DAC circuit, effectively minimizing power drain from the mobile source. Through a redesigned amplification circuit, we have dramatically increased the output power while maintaining the overall power consumption at a range of 100-110mA. This low power consumption feature ensures compatibility of the RU7 with the following audio sources:

The shared line-out function allows you to configure the 3.5mm or 4.4mm phone output, bypassing the volume control:

The line-out voltage is carefully selected to preserve the intricate details and dynamic range of the 1-bit DAC, minimizing noise and distortion. This enables you to connect the RU7 to portable/desktop amplifiers or home audio systems, utilizing it as a miniature 1-bit DAC.

Discrete Volume Control

The discrete resistor network DAC circuit places high demands on the integrity of incoming data. To ensure the quality of the audio digital signal, we recommend users to keep the digital volume of their mobile phones at full output. In situations where off-the-shelf analog volume options fail to meet the high precision, low noise, and low power consumption requirements of the RU7, we have developed our own discrete resistor network volume control. This unique volume control solution features 100 steps, achieved through 3 segments of resistors and switching relays, providing precise control over a wide volume range, satisfying even the needs of the most sensitive IEM users.

Outstanding Digital Audio Capability with User Selectable All-to-DSD

The RU7 supports PCM up to 384kHz and native DSD from DSD64 to DSD256. Its audio bridge receives different audio formats and undergoes high precision signal enhancement. All digital audio signals are converted to a designated DSD format before being fed to the discrete 1-bit DAC circuit.
