Feature

●Module Operating voltage : 5V; Single module can drive the an 8 * 8 dot matrix common cathode.
●Included on-chip are a BCD code-B decoder, multiplex scan circuitry, segment and digit drivers, and an 8x8 static RAM that stores each digit. The MAX7219 also allow the user to select code B decoding or no-decode for each digit.
●Module size : 5 cm X 3.2 cm wide X 1.5 cm high; 4 holes with four screws, the diameter of 3 mm.
●Modules with input and output interfaces, support for cascading multiple modules.
●Only one external resistor is required to set the segment current for all LEDs. A convenient 3-wire serial interface connects to all common µPs. Individual digits may be addressed and updated without rewriting the entire display.

Description

MAX7219 8x8 Dot Matrix ModuleMAX7219 8x8 Dot Matrix Module

Description:

  • The MAX7219 is compact, serial input/output common-cathode display drivers that interface microprocessors (µPs) to 7-segment numeric LED displays of up to 8 digits, bar-graph displays, or 64 individual LEDs.
  • A convenient four-wire serial interface can connect all common microprocessor. Each data can be addressed in the update does not overwrite all of the display.
  • MAX7219 also allows the user to select each of the data code or not coded. The entire device includes a 150A low-power shutdown mode, analog and digital brightness control, a scan-limit register allows the user to 1-8 bits of data , there is an LED light so that all the detection mode.

Note:

Requires only three IO ports can drive a dot ! No flashing dot matrix display ! Support cascade !

Features:

  • 10MHz Serial Interface
  • Individual LED Segment Control
  • Decode/No-Decode Digit Selection
  • 150µA Low-Power Shutdown (Data Retained)
  • Digital and Analog Brightness Control
  • Display Blanked on Power-Up
  • Drive Common-Cathode LED Display

Wiring instructions:

  1. The left side of the module as an input port, an output port on the right.
  2. If a single control module, simply input port connected to CPU
  3. Cascading multiple modules, input and output termination CPU, input the output end of the second module of the first module,

the first two modules of the first three input termination module, and so on. 51 microcontrollers, for example:

VCC → 5V

GND → GND

DIN → P2.2

CS → P2.1

CLK → P2.0
