Stainless Steel 304
Composition
304 (A2) is the most extensively used austenitic stainless-steel. Its also known as stainless steel 18/8 which is derived from the nominal composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
Thanks to the chromium content, 304 stainless steel products show excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance.
Weakness
304 Stainless Steel is more likely to corrode from saline environments in coastal areas. That means grade 316 stainless steel is highly recommended for tough applications under the marine environment where there is more powerful acids and chemicals.
