Question: Does the rope have strong oil or chemical smell?
Answer: All Jute and hemp rope contains oil in the manufacturing process to improve the flexibility and wear-resistance. our jute fiber has been exposed to the sun for two weeks before weaving the rope, so it is almost no smell, please buy it with confidence.
Question: Will this shrink when it gets wet?
Answer: Jute and hemp rope typically do, it will shrink 5-8% when it gets wet, but they will also mostly stretch back out under load. Best bet is to pre-shrink them (soak it and dry it out) and then not pull it too tight when you install it.
