Description

The General Electric P42 is a modern 4200 horsepower passenger locomotive used across the United States and Canada with Amtrak utilizing it in a majority of their revenue service. 2021 marked Amtrak’s 50th Anniversary, and in celebration Amtrak created five unique paint schemes for its P42 engines: #108 carries the Phase VI scheme, introduced for locomotives with the new ALC-42 “Charger” engines, along with the anniversary logo. Each locomotive is designed to uniquely honor Amtrak’s heritage and their vision of connecting communities, economies, and families nationwide.
