About Our Product

No need to buy those 8 or 12 colors of tint for stone repair. Black, brown, dark gray, and white are the four primary colors found in stone. With the four iron-ore colors to work with in this pack, you should be able to easily match one of the primary colors that is in your stone. EZ-Tint iron-ore powders are highly concentrated. Add in just a particle or two to see how far it goes, then add in more tint to reach your desired consistency and achieve a perfect color match. Use the 2-inch x 4-inch shaping strip included with your EZ-Tint purchase to shape the epoxy to your surfaces profile. The shaping strip can also be used on flat surfaces to force the epoxy into cracks and flatten it level with the surface. Tape the shaping strip tightly into place until the epoxy is dry.

Note: When reattaching a piece of stone or tile that has a clean break with no missing pieces, tinting is optional. However, if the epoxy will be visible, tinting the epoxy will mask any yellowing or other discoloration that may occur over time.

  1. Measure out and mix equal portions of hardener and resin.

2. Add in a small amount of tint and stir it in thoroughly. (Unlike diluted liquid tints, EZ-Tint is a highly concentrated powder. A little goes a long way!)

3. Keep adding small amounts of tint until the desired color is achieved. Black or white tint can be added to darken or lighten the shade of the epoxy. As can be seen in the chip repair video on this product page, small specks of tint can also be added in after the epoxy is applied to your repair to create multiple colors and striations that are often found in stone.

4. Your EZ-Tint purchase includes a 2-inch by 4-inch clear shaping strip. Using the shaping strip is optional on flat-surface repairs. On vertical surfaces, the shaping strip helps to keep the epoxy in place. On profiled edges like countertops, the shaping strip shapes the epoxy to the exact profile. Just use painter’s tape to tape the shaping strip down and keep it in place. In approximately 20 minutes, lift one edge of the shaping strip and ensure the epoxy is dry-to-touch. Once the epoxy has dried, the shaping strip will not stick to it and peels away easily. Simply razor away the dried excess. Razoring the cured surface will matte the finish if desired. If a glossy surface is desired, take care not to scrape the surface with the razor.
