WHO IS THIS BOARD FOR?
Our 41 Inch board The Bruce is generally best suited for someone weighing between 60-100lbs. Wood Skimboards are a great way to start your skimboarding journey. As you get more practice, you can then look at purchasing a fibreglass board for more wave riding.
HOW DO YOU USE A SKIMBOARD?
Skimboards are designed to skim along the shallow water at the edge of the beach using your own energy. Generally, people add wax to the board so that they dont slip off. Our board comes with EVA grip (and a board bag!) so theres no need for any extras.
As you see a wave rolling back from the shoreline, get a running start. While running, toss the skimboard in front of you. Step on top of the board with the front foot in the middle, and the back foot towards the back of the board. Try to skim along the waters edge carefully, maintaining balance. Check out our video to get the idea.
Practice getting off the board while it is in motion. Dont give up! Like anything worthwhile, it takes time to master your skimboarding sills!
