Easy Wash And Care
Hand Washing
Hand washing is an ideal way to wash silk accessories. Silks should be washed in lukewarm water, using a mild detergent that does not contain bleach. For added protection against color loss, add up to three tablespoons of white vinegar for every two quarts of water (or about 2-3 drops in a small bowl of water). Immerse your pocket square and gently wash for 1-2 minutes, then let it soak for an additional 2-3 minutes. Do not wring or twist your silk pocket square at any time. Rinse and gently squeeze your pocket square under clean running water, then wrap in a towel to absorb excess moisture. Silk dries quickly, so iron immediately while the silk is still slightly damp, using a medium hot setting.
Machine Washing
If you intend to machine wash your silk pocket square, it is recommended that you invest in a Royal Silk washer bag, purchased separately. After placing your silks in a washer bag, machine wash in cold water, using the delicate cycle. Use a bleach-free, mild detergent meant for fine washables, and once the wash cycle is complete, remove your silk pocket squares from the washer bag and iron immediately using a medium hot setting.
