Advantage of Magnesium

Magnesium is the third-most-commonly-used structural metal, following iron and aluminum. And magnesium is the lightest structural metal with a density of 1.74 g/cm3 in its solid state.

It is used in a wide variety of applications from medical and metallurgical to chemical and pyrotechnic.

Magnesium is the highest on the electromotive series among metals in salt water, making it desirable as a sacrificial anode for cathodic protection. Constructive uses of this mechanism are employed in batteries.

AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet that contains 94-97% of magnesium, and the remaining is mainly aluminum and zinc.

Cast magnesium alloys are used for many components of modern automobiles, and have been used in some high-performance vehicles; Die-cast magnesium is also used for camera bodies and components in lenses.
