●3 inch Dial Compression Gauge: The pressure gauge features clear reading, good air tightness and high precision. Equipped with dual scale big dial, quick coupler, anti-scratch resin window and rubber cover around for protection. The build-in check valve holds pressure to get maximum pressure value, and the release valve allows repeated tests without hose reassembly, save trouble. Remember to press it to release pressure before the test is over.
●Dedicated and Universal Adapters: Compression gage is respectively available with extension hose and universal straight/angled spark plug adapter. 4 pieces dedicated brass fittings(10 12 14 18 millimetres) with sealed O ring, work with extension hose or rod to connect the corresponding spark plug wells. EASY TO TEST ENGINE COMPRESSION
- 1.Before the compression test, run the engine till it reaches normal temperature and stop the engine.
- 2.Disconnect all the spark plug wires, clean the dirt around and remove the spark plugs. Remove the air filter and fully open the throttle. Disconnect the ignition system.
- 3.Tightly insert aluminium rod rubber cone adapter into the tested cylinders spark plug well. Or you can test the cylinder pressure by screwing the right size dedicated adapter, hand tighten only, do not by a wrench.
- 4.Observe the gauge and record after the pointer stabilizes. Press the release valve to zero position. Repeat the test, do it at least twice for each cylinder and take the average of the values.
Assist to diagnose following problems:
- Valve sticking
- Carbon build-up
- Cracked cylinder head or defective main gasket
- Poorly seated or worn piston rings
- Burned or damaged piston
USAGE AND FUNCTION
JIFETOR engine cylinder compression measuring meter tool set is perfect for checking compression pressure on most gasoline/gas/fuel engine cylinder, but not suitable for most diesel engine because of the low pressure range 0-300PSI.
ATTENTION
A variation in compression readings between cylinders is often a better indication of engine problems than the absolute values of compression.
