Record Props have been designed to fit most albums when displayed on the wall. By unlocking the center pin and rotating the large X 180 degrees, it fits both single and gatefold albums. Not 100% of albums will fit but weve come as close as possible to a one-size-fits-most design. Testing countless albums over the years led to a design that fits the overwhelming majority. |
Record Props are designed with a protective bumper to creates friction for two reasons: 1) it helps keep records straight, and 2) it helps secure records to prevent them from falling off the wall mount. All records have variances in their production, and they wear naturally over time. Some records may be looser or tighter than others. Our bumper has been tested to fit the overwhelming majority of center holes. |
Record Props were designed with protection in mind. All corners are rounded off to ensure they do not create damage to album covers during use. That said, yall still be careful now. For records, always turn counter-clockwise to straighten or remove a record from the wall. This ensures the mount remains locked. Check out the video in our product images above to see it in action. |

Tabletop display:
Take apart your Record Prop by untwisting the center pin, then place the Large X face up on any flat surface (groove facing upward). Place an album cover in the groove, and voila – Now Playing Stand.
Wall display:
Drill a small guide hole (1/8” or 3–3.2 mm) to see if you hit a stud in your wall – if so, skip the drywall anchor and proceed to screwing the wall mount (thats the Small X) tightly to the wall. Otherwise, increase drill / hole size to 3/16” (or 4.5–4.8mm) and insert the provided drywall anchor until it is entirely flush with the wall. AND THENNNN screw the wall mount (still the Small X) to the wall.
Place the Large X on the mount, insert the center pin, and twist clockwise to lock it tight. Slide an album cover in behind the Large X and then mount a record on the center pin over the protective bumper. Always turn records clockwise when mounting, straightening, and removing from the mount.
Switch between Single and Gatefold album (applies to wall display only):
Unlock the center pin and remove the Large X, then rotate the Large X 180 degrees and re-attach it while locking in place with the center pin again. This helps prevent album covers from leaning forward. Unless you used double-sided tape (keep reading).

NO TAPE! – It is not recommended to use double-sided tape, such as command strips, to mount Record Props. Dont do it yall. Weve got a no-tape policy. The weight of records is too heavy to take that risk. Weve also designed Record Props with precise measurements to ensure they fit the vast majority of album covers – and this relies on the wall mount being flush against the wall without tape. Lucky for our apartment dweller friends, weve designed Record Props to be hung with just a single small screw and lock washer combination (included). That creates one small hole which is easy to fill if removed from the wall at a later date.

Created by two dudes collecting records for three decades.
Those two dudes are not dogs.
But they do love dogs. And records.
They also love creative industrial design and fabrication.
They live in Texas. With their families.
And their dogs.
And records.
Were children of the 80s and 90s who grew up around our parents record collections. We each went to school to study art, design, products, and fabrication. We never stopped listening to music along the way.
Were obsessive about... well, everything. Were constantly challenging ourselves to create product designs that work well and serve multiple functions. We hope you love the design and versatility of Record Props as much as we do.
Music is life. Listen. Get inspired. Be creative. Repeat.
