The replacement Culligan OR-100 O-Ring is compatible with Culligans Big Blue Filter Housings HD-950, HD-950A, and other housings that call for the OR-100 o-ring part number. It is also compatible with Simpure DB10P / DB20P (It does not fit DB10, DB20, or DB10C). The o-ring has an outside diameter of approximate 5-3/4 inches and is made of nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) for flexibility and resistance to abrasion and tearing.

Captain O-Rings high quality replacement water filter housing o-rings are designed for reliable extended use. Still, it is typically recommended to replace your o-ring on every third filter change to ensure it is in top shape to prevent leaks.

Can I use grease or lubricant on these o-rings?

Since Captain O-Ring supplies high quality o-rings without surface imperfections or tacky/sticky surface texture, lubrication is typically not needed if the filter housing sealing surfaces are clean and free of debris. Simply wet the o-rings with water before installing. However, if lubrication is preferred, these Buna Nitrile rubber o-rings are compatible with silicone based and petroleum based lubricants, as well as natural lubricants like vegetable oil.

What if I need a thicker o-ring for a filter housing that isnt listed as compatible with the OR-100 o-ring?

If your "Big Blue" filters o-ring is 5.5" in inside diameter, but thicker than 0.165" (closer to 0.210"), then you most likely need the thicker Culligan OR-250 o-ring (found here: amazon.com/dp/B074THDBQ2).
