Marine Hardware Division

History

Tylaska Marine Hardware was founded in 1995 in Mystic, CT by the owner and president Timothy Tylaska.

Engineering

Designed by professional engineers and manufactured in house. All components are tested to advertised working strength and for resistance to harsh ocean salt spray.

Materials

All Tylaska Marine Hardware is built from the highest quality materials: 17-4PH and 316L Stainless Steel for maximum strength and corrosion resistance or 6061 and 7075 Aerospace Aluminum for weight savings and oxidation resistance.

All parts are tested to minimum breaking strength.

Tylaska Low Friction Rings

Lighter and smaller than a conventional pulley block, low friction rings have become a popular alternative for many applications where traditional blocks once ruled. In addition to being light and less expensive than convectional blocks, low friction rings are also less prone to failure because there are no pulleys to crack or bearings to foul.

Instead of rolling on a pulley sheave, the active line slides on the inside smooth surface of the ring. Another line is spliced around the ring as an anchor.

  • Low Profile and Lightweight
  • High sidewall for secure line
