Why do vinyl record players need a phono preamplifier?
The first reason is to compensate for the frequency. Because when recording vinyl records, in order to obtain a relatively high amount of information, it is usually used to attenuate the bass part and increase the treble part. The function of the phono preamp is to compensate the attenuation and weaken the boost.
The second reason is to boost the voltage. Because the output of the phono is very small, about 3mV. Equipped with a phono preamp to amplify the signal picked up by the phono through the stylus, and then transmit the sound to the amplifier, and finally you can hear HIFI music.
