Ernest Hemingway in Sanfermines with his Bota "I went down the street looking for the shop that made leather winebottles. Then I asked a man and he took me by the arm and led me to it. Inside it smelled of fresh tanned leather and hot tar. A man was stencilling completed wine-skins. They hung from the roof in bunches…" The sun also rises, Ernest Hemingway	Store and factory. Beginning of 20th century. Founded back in 1873 our family company (now in its 4th generation) grew and prospered in Pamplona (northern spain, home to Sanfermines)	Las Tres ZZZ (The three girls -Zagalas-) in 1920 In 1916 our grand-grandmother gave birth to a healthly girls triplet. Such an unusual event led to a brand rename: from that moment our botas would be named The Three ZZZ (Las Tres Zagalas -the three lasses-)

About the Bota Bags main types

Of course not all bota bags are the same. Enduring ones are made out of natural tan goat suede and their waterproof condition may be ensured either with traditional vegetable pitch or with latex lining.

Botas using pitch are more delicate to prepare and maintain whereas latex ones require little maintenance and may be used with all kinds of drinks. They can also be stored in the fridge to ensure you carry your drink cool.

Curved botas were first created to allow miners to drink from their botas in the low and narrow mine galleries. Its particular shape allows drinking without lifting it above your head.
Dye darkened botas extra protect and isolate the bota while adding an attractive aged look to the final product.

When we ask our clients about their reasons to use our Botas they always refer to the fun and pleasure of drinking from la Bota. Drinking from la bota requires lifting it above your head and pressing it to allow a delicious and refreshing jet hit the back of your throat calming your thirst. Never put your mouth over the nozzle: this will enable you to hygienically share it with friends or relatives. It is a matter of skill and experience to prevent the last drop from falling over your face!!..

The top nozzle offerts two different openings (one for filling and a narrower one for drinking)
The declared capacity may not be fully accurate while the seals settle as hand sewing and the goat leather itself may compress the inner lining until eased by using.
