Descriptions:
There are two kinds of commonly used materials for making glass balls: Soda Lime Glass & Borosilicate Glass.
Soda-lime glass is known as chemically inert. It is resistant to alkaline solutions. The balls made of soda-lime glass have good electric and corrosion-resistant properties but can not bear the thermal shock. The melting point is about 700C.
Borosilicate glass is highly chemical and heat resistant. Borosilicate glass balls are dimension stable with a melting point of about 800C.
Glass balls are especially useful for check valves, visual flow equipment, low-speed bearings, and many labs and experimental applications.
