This one way excluder bat cone allows bats to exit your dwelling, but prevents them from returning due to the angle of the cone and its slick surface. This cone has pre drilled holes for easier mounting and bevels in the mounting flange that allow sections to be bent or easily snapped off for use in smaller or odd shaped areas. In order to successfully exclude bats from your home, you must first address all potential open areas that bats may be able to squeeze into, with exception of their main entry/exit point. Once all other areas have been sealed, install the bat cone over the main entry, with the cone ANGLED DOWNWARDS and ideally away from the home. Leave the cone up for a few days to ensure the bats are all gone, then simply remove the cone and seal the entry permanently. Some people prefer to tape a plastic bag with the bottom cut open onto the cone for added peace of mind, but this step isnt necessary.
