This is a Zahn Type Cup Viscometer which are used to measure the flow behavior of liquids such as paints and is in very nice condition. 1. Clean before TestingChoose the appropriate cup size before testing, so that the time of outflow can be controlled between 20 and 80 seconds. Wipe it clean with the appropriate solvent and dry it before using. |
2. Liquid Temperature ControlAdjust the temperature of the filtered sample and the outlet cup to 25℃ or a specific temperature, keep the temperature constant, and immerse the cup in the container for 1-5 minutes to achieve a thermal balance. |
3. Test and TimeLift the cup vertically from the sample, and the movement needs to be fast and steady. Start the timer when the the upper end of the cup leaves the liquid level and. Keep the cup vertical when the liquid flows out and the distance from the liquid surface should not exceed 150mm. |
4. Viscosity Value ConversionStop timing when the first breakpoint occurs. Repeat the test 2-3 times. Take the average time to reduce the error and the difference between the two measurements should be less than 5% of the average. Then use the formula v=k (t-c) to convert the viscosity value. Clean the cup after testing. |
