DESIGNED BY A LOVING DAD who tries to solve his own problem. I’m a designer and worked from home when Covid hit, in the meantime I had my second son. It was a blessing, but it’s also a bit crazy with two kids and two adults stuck home almost 24/7. Inevitably they crash into my “home office” and wreak havoc. I have multiple PCs and displays that need to be plugged in all the time so I wish there was something that’s EASY TO USE and BIG ENOUGH to COVER ALL THE PLUGGED-IN CABLES. So I started designing. The end result is what you see here, the TodPod. It PROTECTS MY WORK, and more importantly, PROTECTS MY KIDS. I designed the SLIDE-TO-LOCK mechanism thats EASY FOR ADULT, yet DIFFICULT FOR A TODDLER to use. As soon as the first round of prototypes was done, I started using them beyond my “home office” – IN KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, PLAYROOM, BEDROOM/NURSERY… So much stuff needs to stay plugged in - coffee machine, InstaPot, fans, lights, humidifier, area heaters, night lights, baby-soothing gears… and, all kinds of chargers! So I designed it with MORE ROOM INSIDE. If it fits on the plate and clears the two slots, it most likely will fit. As a designer of course I want it to LOOK GOOD. I picked a cream white out of 30+ whites that is warm and bright, but not pale, so it will FIT MOST DECORS. My kids run and crawl around like crazy and I don’t want them to bump into something and get hurt. So I designed the TodPod to be SAFE, ROUND, NO SHARP EDGE, but more importantly, BUBBLY AND HAPPY. Cables and chargers can move around. When they are gone, I don’t wanna leave half a box, an eye-sore and dangerous object sticking out on the wall. So TodPod is designed WHEN YOU TAKE THE COVER OFF, the WALL PLATE IS FLUSH. All in all, I designed it for my kids, and I use it personally, everywhere in my home. I figure there are tons of parents who might have the same needs, so I present to you my proud little invention, the TodPod. Hope you find it useful. Cheers!
