What is 11 Count Aida?

Generally, aida is the easiest when learning to stitch and is perfect for cross stitch because they produce evenly-sized stitches, and it comes in various "counts" meaning holes per inch. "11 count aida" means that there are 11 holes/squares per inch of the fabric that has large holes very easy to see and is precisely woven for accurate.

Similarly, 16 count aida has 16 squares or stitches per inch and 18 count aida has 18 squares or stitches per inch, the higher the count, the more stitches per inch.
