Cork Bark is sections of bark from trees farmed in Portugal, and is a completely renewable resource, as the trees can be harvested every 7 years. Because it can be stripped from trees at appropriate intervals, trees don’t need to be cut down for the use of the bark. Since new bark grows in its place, it doesn’t cause harm or disturbance to this natural resource.
Cork tubes and half rounds are ideal hiding places for amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates
The textured surface of cork enables arboreal and ground dwelling alike to climb without slipping
Epiphytic plants are easily attached to cork and make beautiful displays in both vivariums and the home
Cork deteriorates very slowly and lasts several years even in very humid environments so backgrounds are long lasting
