Description

Automatic Control Theory Linear Inverted Pendulum Automatic Control Theory Linear Inverted Pendulum

  1. The motor equipped with this inverted pendulum has a rated voltage of 12V. If it works at a higher voltage, it will easily cause damage to the motor. If it works at a voltage lower than 12V, such as 8V, the motor will not reach the rated power, the torque and speed will decrease, and the performance will decrease. Generally, the voltage of 11~13V can make the motor reach the ideal working state.
  2. The tail of the motor is equipped with a 13-wire magnetic (Hall) encoder, and the reduction ratio of the motor is 1:20, so the motor can output 260 pulses per revolution, and the frequency is 1040 after multiplication. The encoder integrates a pull-up resistor and a comparison shaping function, and can directly output a square wave. Encoders generally use 5V power supply. The VCC and GND of the encoder must not be reversed, otherwise the encoder may be permanently damaged.

There are two ways to balance an inverted pendulum:

  • Manual swing

The default in the inverted pendulum system is the manual starting mode. At any time we can perform manual swing up. We first manually hold the inverted pendulum to a position close to balance, and then click the [User Button] on the core board to make the inverted pendulum swing. After the pendulum is balanced, click the reserved button to make the inverted pendulum move in the forward direction, and double-click the button to move in the reverse direction.

  • Auto swing

If you want to switch to the automatic pendulum mode, you need to move the slider of the inverted pendulum to the leftmost position. Then press the reset button so that the value of P is 10000 when the slider is at the far left. Then press and hold the [Reserved button] on the bottom board. When the blue LED lights up, it means that we have switched to the automatic swing mode. Click the [User button] on the core board to make the inverted pendulum swing automatically. It should be noted that when the automatic swing is used once or after the automatic swing fails, it is necessary to manually adjust the slider and the position according to the above steps before the automatic swing can be performed again.

Tips:If you need, we can provide an electronic version of the instruction manual if you need it.
