How to Install Cabinet KnobsHow to Install Cabinet Knobs

Knobs, pulls, and other handles are like jewelry for cabinets. The right kitchen cabinet hardware can complement and accentuate the lines, colors, and textures of your space. Simply put, investing in high-quality hardware is an easy way to elevate the everyday whether you’re building a brand new kitchen, working on a bathroom remodel, or simply want to swap out some existing hardware on an oldage furniture. Here we’ve put together a simple and straight forward how-to, to help you choose the perfect cabinet hardware for your space.

1) Knobs Vs Pulls

  • Knobs have smaller profiles than handles, are less expensive, and can be used for both drawers and cabinets. They are slightly easier to install than pulls since you only need one screw to secure the knob to the surface. Per users experience, the most safe size for kitchen knobs is 1-1/4 inch.
  • Pulls are larger than knobs, make more of a statement, and tend to be easier to grip. They are more expensive than knobss, but they come in many different sizes. They tend to complement drawers or larger cabinets with their linear shape.

2) Pick up Your Favorite Color

Cabinet hardware works best when the finish adds contrast to the room. What color are your cabinets? What about your appliances, faucet, and lighting? In general, warmer toned spaces with brass cabinetry have a vintage feel to them, while cooler tones with darker cabinet hardware lean more contemporary.

*Matte black and flat black

#FLAT finish is the finish that has the least amount of gloss. That means the gloss is between 0-5%. MATTE Finish is the next in line to FLAT finish#

In particular, Matte black will be incredibly popular for 2020 and going into the next 10 years. In fact, it is trending in all forms of hardware - from cabinets to door knobs and light fixtures. Its a more sleek and modern take on the Oil Rubbed Bronze trend of the past, and one that adds wonderful contrast to a lot of the all-white spaces.

*Brass and gold finished cabinet hardware is here to stay for the foreseeable future. It adds warmth to white and gray cabinets and works with all design styles. Brass adds elegance and also helps to offset blue tones in bright white cabinets.

#it is timeless and has been popular for a long time#

* Brushed Nickel is more of a subtle, softer looking finish. It has a slightly brushed appearance with a semi-satin finish. Some customers think of a brushed nickel finish as looking more like stainless steel and, therefore, it can tie in with stainless steel kitchen appliances very nicely. However, brushed nickel can appear to absorb the light around it giving a slightly yellow appearance.

* Satin Nickel is usually dull and doesn’t show the fingerprints, water spots any other marks. Regular cleaning is not necessary in the case of satin nickel. It is basically used on zinc hardware as well as electronic locks and door knobs.

3) Choose a shape that works with your decor

The small, rounded-top knob is the most traditional, and some knobs offer decorative lines and ridges to add visual interest. You can jazz up your kitchen with knobs that are square or those that look like smaller versions of decorative finials, often designed in shapes.
