Description

The BrandTech Transferpette S adjustable multichannel pipette has eight channels, a thumb-operated manual volume selector, a four-digit volume display, and a short-stroke plunger. This multichannel micropipette has a thumb wheel with ridged edges to set the volume and is used for transporting a measured volume of liquid. Its four-digit volume display is not obscured by the operators hand during pipetting operations and has white numbers on a black background for visibility. It has a short pipetting stroke to reduce thumb fatigue and a locking mechanism to help prevent accidental volume changes. A curved handle suspends the pipette from the operators hand, allowing for one-handed use to set and lock the volume, press and release the plunger, and eject the pipette tip. This pipette is fully autoclavable for decontamination and sterilization. Multichannel pipettes are typically used in biotechnology research, microbiology, and chemistry applications to aspirate, transport, and dispense a small, measured volume of liquid.

The Transferpette S is color coded by volume for ease of selection, and it has a covered nameplate to label for identification. The manifold swivels 360 degrees for pipetting from any angle. The nose cones seal with V-rings and are compatible with standard pipette tips (sold separately). Individual tip cones can be disassembled for cleaning and replacement, and the pipette can be disassembled without tools for in-house cleaning, calibration, or repair. The Transferpette S comes with a performance certificate, instructions, sample pipette tips, a reagent reservoir, replacement V-rings, and a shelf mount.

Pipettes are laboratory tools for collecting, transporting, and dispensing a small amount of liquid. Sometimes called pipets, pipettors, or chemical droppers, a pipette is composed of a tube that collects the measured substance and a mechanism to aspirate and dispense the substance. Some pipettes can measure a fixed volume of liquid, others are graduated to show the volume, while others can be set to measure a volume within a range. Pipettes can aspirate and dispense liquid manually, electronically, or with a pipette filler that can be motorized. Pipettes are available in a variety of sizes and designs, offer ergonomic features for often-repeated functions, can be autoclavable for reuse, or disposable. The type of pipette used is determined by laboratory applications. Pipettes are typically used in medicine, biology, chemistry, and biotechnology for liquid handling, sampling, testing, and cell culture applications.
